Most women are influenced by their environment and culture. They encounter society’s expectations of what a good wife and mother should look like. As a result, the myth has arisen that a woman should endure and handle everything. This may have been an effective model in times when a man was chopping wood, tending cattle, repairing the house, or hunting.
This series depicts the transformation of a single girl in the 21st century into an adult woman trying to fulfill her role and worth based on lived ideas that have lasted for generations. Because she has no comparison, she mistakenly believes that this is the only proper way to be accepted and loved.
Over time, the realization comes in the form of loss of self, anxiety, burnout and emptiness. A sense of futility where she can try her best but never reach that expected perfection.
At this point, a turning point occurs that opens up space to work on self-worth, build personal boundaries and find one’s own path that will bring greater contentment and peace to the family. To finally be the right mother who can put her responsibilities in the closet for a while.
